October 2023 Public Workshops

In October 2023, Carson City held two public workshops to explore funding for local and neighborhood roads and roads-related elements like snow removal, sidewalks, signals, etc. in Carson City. The workshop includes three stations presenting information on ways we can increase funding for local roads and offered opportunity for the public to interact with staff and share their ideas on the funding options being evaluated. Material for the three stations is listed below. Over 100 people attended these two meetings!

Station 1 - Road Functions - Condition Boards at this station illustrate examples of various road conditions and road related functions the Carson City is responsible to maintain, and it includes a map of current or upcoming transportation projects in Carson City. For more information about current projects, visit http://vfyu.hengtel.net/government/departments-g-z/public-works/transportation.

Station 2 - Funding Boards at this station show current roadway funding sources and the possible funding options being considered.

Station 3 - GID Methods Station 3 outlines aspects of a General Improvement District (GID) including what it is, how it is formed, and what it might do. This station also outlines possible ways assessments could be implemented.
